木鑑（もっかん）

へぎの初期の作品で、制作中に木に内在する形を識ることが、まさに"木を鑑（かんが）みる（他と比べて考える）ことである"と感動したことから、命名したそうです。
重量感のあるダイナミックなフォルムで、存在感のある作品です。
仕上げは内外摺漆（拭き漆）。

※摺漆（すりうるし）…別名拭き漆（ふきうるし）。生漆（きうるし）を材に摺り込んで仕上げる方法。耐水強度は「塗」に準じてあり木目を活かす時に有効で、塗膜を作らない。褐色透明な仕上がり。
