地球の表層にはさまざまな表情がある。なかでも温泉地の地熱地帯には、土や石、水や植物などの多様な色や形が置き去りにされている。日本各地の温泉場をたどってみると、地面を噴き上がるガスによって化学変化を起こした土の表面、水の流れや模様が重なり、不思議な表層が次々に現れてきた。たくさんの要素が複雑に絡まり、時には人工衛星からの眺めや、遠い天体の地面をのぞきこんだような錯覚さえ味わった。ここには、地球の素肌に触れるような個性的な〈earth color〉、地表の手触り感が溢れていた。

Various expressions are shown in the surface of the earth.
Especially in the geothermal zone of a hot-springs resorts, various colors and forms has remained, such as the ground and stones, the waters and plants.
Following the hot-springs resorts of Japan, the surface of the ground which has been changed chemically by the gas from the ground and the flows and signs of the waters overlapped, the wonderful surfaces has appeared one after another.
Many elements twisted intricately,  occasionally I have experienced even the illusions which looked into the view from an artificial satellite, and the ground of the far heavenly bodies.
Here, there are full of the individual which touches the bare skin of the earth, sensations of touching the surfaces.
